CoStar Modernization

CoStar, a leader in commercial real estate for over 30 years, had become inconsistent and difficult to scale due to acquisitions and growth.

I led the transformation of an $1B+ product portfolio, creating a unified design system that enhanced consistency and supported global expansion. We launched new products for tenants, funds, owners, and business intelligence.

These improvements are projected to double the user base and increase revenue by $100M, while also reducing inefficiencies and accelerating go-to-market strategies.

Role: Leading strategy, design language, implementation, and adoption.

Cosmos Design System

In collaboration with a core engineering team, we developed Cosmos, an enterprise design system supporting both designers and engineers at CoStar.

The system has steadily expanded, improving performance, accessibility, and responsiveness of CoStar’s digital products while cutting development time in half.

Role: Leading strategy, implementation, and ongoing improvements.

Product Team Evaluation and Elevation

We identified a growing need among 3Pillar clients to improve the performance of their product and design functions, enabling them to meet business objectives more effectively. In response, we developed and delivered tailored engagements that evaluated these functions, uncovered areas for improvement, and provided coaching and training designed to elevate team performance.

Common App Mobile Strategy

The Common Application allows students to apply to multiple colleges using a single system. When they decided to build a mobile app, they needed clarity on what features students valued most.

We conducted six rounds of prototyping with 35 students in just 33 days. Our research revealed that students struggled to manage application timelines and requirements while balancing school and other commitments. We prioritized functionality that addressed these pain points.

The app was highly rated at launch and supported  over than 4.5 Million applications annually

Product Mindset Global Development and Launch

Product Mindset had been a core philosophy within 3Pillar but was fading as the company grew. The challenge was to reinvigorate this mindset.

I developed a set of principles and launched a training program that reached nearly 1,000 employees across three companies. The training program was extended to clients, and eventually, we published a book to generate leads and elevate the brand.

The initiative was instrumental in enhancing 3Pillar’s valuation during its acquisition by CIP Capital.

Role: Content development, strategy, marketing, curriculum development, and business development.

CEB (now Gartner) Web Design

At CEB, I led the design of over 35 websites serving corporate function heads in HR, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and IT, with a focus on improving resource findability and enhancing the member experience.

We redesigned the sites to support international expansion and ensure a seamless experience across devices, aligning with the new CEB brand.

The redesign of the marketing site increased traffic by 30%, generating $6.1 million in new revenue, with notable growth in European and Asian markets.
